Today marks 75 yrs since my great uncle, Maj Stanley Alexander, was killed. The 61st Reconnaissance was at the forefront of Operation Market Garden, when his car hit a mine. He left 2 young children, one of whom he never saw. He is buried at the British War Cemetery at Mierlo.
